Culture Festival 2010

Welcome to Kohei High School Cultural Festival. Each of the classes prepared food, activities, and exhibitions. Many schools around Japan have a similar festival while the rest of Japan has the day off.

Parents also get in on the action.

I wonder what this is???????????

You move a ball through this maze filled with traps and holes. Your pretty skillful if you can get from the start to the finish without dropping the ball to the floor.

Pancakes covered with butter, jam, and ice cream. (includes a drink) all for 150 yen. :)

Japanese challenge!

The students are so talented.

Guess who??????
They love having their pictures taken.

Several bands performed pretty loud rock music. Students, teachers, and administration all added to the festivities to make memories for Cultural Day 2010.

Maizuru Beach

We went snorkling at Maizuru Beach. Maizuru Beach is on the Japan Seaside, about 3 hours from where we live. We had a fun day snorkling, a BBQ, and time with friends. A great way to start our 2010 summer!

Tea Time, by AIG Ballet--Japan

We went to see a Ballet this afternoon. The dancer is Yutaka Okawaki, a church friend. He is new to the professional field. I'm sure we'll see more a him in the future.

Mother's Day in Japan 2010

Mother's Day, May 10
We celebrated Mother's Day and our birthdays at the Oriental Hotel in Kobe. We had a nice dinner and enjoyed the night views of Kobe City.

Here's the chef preparing our noodles :)

Beautiful Kobe on Mother's Day

An after dinner evening stroll around the Mosaic, Kobe. We are so blessed!

The evening just got better and better.....

Ferris Wheel with The Oriental Hotel in the background, and on our way back home to Nishinomiya. Good memories will last a lifetime.
